In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Piet Boon® is working in cooperation with WASA Studio on the design of 216 units at 421 Kent Avenue. Together they are responsible for the aesthetic design of the exterior and interior architecture of a building extending a whole square block. The varied housing options in the design will include one-, two- and three bedroom apartments, duplex lofts, and townhouses complete with a garage. As well, Piet Boon® has designed the many public spaces such as three lobby areas, an art gallery, a pool, a wellness center including a gym, an outdoor courtyard and a children’s play area.

Piet Boon soft launch of sales offices for Huys – New York City

With exactly 404 years to the Dutch founding of “New Amsterdam”, Piet Boon is proud to announce the soft launch of ‘Huys’ (pronounced “house”). A 58 unit residential condominium at 404 Park Avenue South in New York City, Huys not only reflects the building’s Dutch connection to the developer and designer but also to the history of New York City. On Monday the 28th of January, Lesley Bamberger together with Piet, formally introduced ‘Huys’ to New York City’s most established high end real estate agents and publications (such as Dwell, Surface, and New York Magazine).  For the first time, guests experienced the Piet Boon® design and styling with parts of a typical residential unit on built in the sales office.

Piet Hein Eek, Ineke Hans, and Piet Boon in Spring exhibition at The Future Perfect – New York City

The Future Perfect is exhibiting both in its Great Jones Street flagship and at a satellite space at 2 Cooper Square. As the exclusive dealer for Piet Hein Eek in the United States, The Future Perfect is showcasing new, limited-edition pieces from the studio, as well as new scrapwood and aluminum work. Also debuting at the store is a never-before-seen walnut timber version of Ilse Crawford’s Seating for Eating Collection for De La Espada. A custom large-scale installation of Jason Miller’s Endless lighting series for Roll & Hill and a new project from Lindsey Adelman will be on view alongside new work for SCP from Ineke Hans, Faudet-Harrison, Matthew Hilton, Kay + Stemmer, and Donna Wilson. Timorous Beasties launches their brand-new New York Toile wallpaper, and new papers from NLXL — including the Concrete Collection by Piet Boon and Tinpapers from Merci — cover the walls. Brooklyn-based designers Elodie Blanchard and Annie Lenon both exhibit new work.

Celebrating a long awaited monograph, Piet Boon 3, join Trespa Design Centre for a one-on-one discussion with one of today’s leading international designers. Piet Boon will sit down with artist Rachel Hovnanian for an intimate conversation — an inside look at past and current works of Boon’s global luxury brand. The discussion will offer a magnificent overview of his high level of craftsmanship and his studio’s unique areas of specialization: architecture, interior design, product and lifestyle. Learn about Boon’s inspiration and deep concern for functionality, comfort, durability and timelessness.

Speakers: Piet Boon is a master craftsman and renowned furniture and interior designer.  He and his wife, Karin, run Piet Boon Studio in Amsterdam with a team of architects and designers where they work with both private individual and corporate customers. Rachel Hovnanian is a New York-based artist whose works include photography, sculpture, mixed-media and interactive art.  Most recently her work was featured in ArtPlatform Los Angeles. Archivia Books will be the evening’s bookseller.
